[OOC: Given that this was posted in a closed forum (only members of the KM can see it) I assume that this an application for the post of Trooper and not Ensign as the former does not require a public declaration? If you are planning on buying Subaltern and so becoming elligible for Ensign of the Escort, this will require a post in LVdP proper...]

[OOC: But Jon, this is within LVdP - so I am confused!]

Apologies,

I thought this had been posted within the KM closed forum (Given that I see all of the TPT forums it can get a little confusing! Especially, as they can have the same thread title, as they are in different forums...)!!!

Regardless, MR has not explicitly announced his application for either Trooper or Ensign. While the former is not required, the latter certainly is. So currently, he cannot be considered to have applied as Ensign of the Escort...

Okay - I am probably being dumb again (it's been a tough week at work and only Tuesday!), but why does an application for Ensign of an Escort need to be announced, but an application for Trooper does not?! They are both appointments...

Troopers are treated like aides, as their vacancies do not conform to any regulated schedule, whilst Ensigns are effectively no different from Captains of the Escort. That is to say that neither aides or troopers of the two escorts figure in the appointments calendar - they can be appointed whenever, at a whim...

Please would you consider my application to join the King's Escort as a rank of Ensign.

I am sorry if I have not made my intentions clear in my previous application

Yours Sincerely
