Welcome to Canterbury Gamers News.��� This website orginally started in January 2002 as a printed magazine containing only two Play by Mail games a bit of news and a story.��� The games were The Paris Tribune and Chronicles of Rokugan.��� Since then a lot of time has passed players have come and gone, as have games, but the two original games continue.
This site is now the home of all the games that are and have been run under the CGN banner, it is not a repalcement for the Adventure Gaming Society (our local Univeristy Gaming Club), it is an extra that can be accessed for free.
Feel free to join the site, there is not obligation to join any of the games, but you can discuss gaming, find out what is coming out at Westgate Games (our Friendly Local Games Store (FLGS)) and find out what events are being run in the Canterbury area.

I have also now embedded the various hyperlinks within it that link to the CGN site, so I would recommend that all players download this version to replace the earlier interim version I posted on my own web site whilst CGN was down for maintenance.
As ususal, let me know if you spot any errors in the issue (including broken hyperlinks). Individual character returns have already been emailed out last night, but I forgot to include individual character duelling sheets for those of you who were involved in duels this month. I will email them out this afternoon...
Hopefully by the time you read this it will be Thursday morning and the reimaging will be done and the site should be running normally, fingers crossed.
If you spot any problems let me know asap!
A note to all TPT players - I did take into account when returns would be published so please do NOT bombard me with email complaining. I felt that it was more important to complete security update BEFORE the issue was published so that your discussion of the next turn was not impacted by the site being down. If any feels that this was wrong then I am truly sorry, but I am only human.
I will be reimaging the server tomorrow evening from about 5pm - I have a full backup of the site at this moment and will backup the database before starting to take it down.
The server needs to be updated for security reasons and this it is important that I complete this task, the server has also not been rebooted in 119 days and obviously the cache files are a little full.
As such please do NOT upload any file to the server until the site is back up, hopefully with a minimum of fuss!
I am currently considering a migration to joomla (another CMS) which will involve much more work, however I will give plenty of notice and take the site down for the minimum amount of time possible.
